Al-Atiyyah hails Saudi Cabinet's stand on resolutions of GCC Supreme Council

Riyadh, April 21, SPA -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman Al-Atiyyah has hailed the decisions of the Saudi Council of Ministers during its weekly session yesterday under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, as regards resolutions adopted by the 28th session of the GCC Supreme Council, held earlier in Doha, Qatar. "These resolutions included continuation of work at the GCC Customs Union with the current mechanism until the completion of the remaining requirements, and allowing the GCC citizens to practice social service activities as well as ending work with restrictions on the practice of the GCC citizens to the economic activities and free vocations in the member states, earlier approved at the eighth session of the GCC Supreme council in addition to absolute equality among the GCC citizens as regards practicing vocations and economic, investment and service activities with the exception of those excluded by the GCC Supreme council." Al-Atiyyah expressed appreciation for the efforts of King Abdullah and his keenness on realizing the gulf citizenship with all its dimensions and translation of the decisions of the GCC to a tangible reality that meets the aspirations of the GCC citizens.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/656625
