YANGON, Myanmar, February 02, SPA -- The U.N. special envoy to Myanmar met with detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi onMonday in an effort to promote political reform in the country, government officials said. The 1 1/2-hour meeting between envoy Ibrahim Gambari andSuu Kyi took place at the state guest house to which theNobel Peace prize laureate was driven from her house arrestin a Yangon villa, said the officials.
