Riyadh, January 31, SPA -- Saudi newspapers commented today editorially on a number of local, regional and international topics. Commenting on the mission of George Mitchell, the US envoy to the Middle East, the papers said Mitchell is not a new person to this vital region, adding he had been to the region earlier and is fully aware of its problems. The newspapers said Mitchell's Middle East 'listening tour' will cover all key countries of the region including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the beginning of his tour, Mitchell made positive indications: he conveyed the anxiety of US President Barack Obama over killing of several Palestinians as well as the adherence of Obama to realize a better future for all Palestinians. Meanwhile, the papers underscored the role which could be played by the Arab League as regards authentication of the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza during its recent aggression on the strip, and added that the Arab League has a technical and logistic capability in this respect.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/631137
