Saudi-Qatari relations are not only confined to political and security aspects but also encompasses the economic, cultural, sports and tourism sectors as the two countries share numerous cultural characteristics and are linked by ties of religion, language, common history and cherish civilized values and principles inspired by the upright religion of Islam. Moreover, the two countries also contributed effectively in the formation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which is generally considered a well-established Forum for the joint consultations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar in supporting the march of the Council in various areas of cooperation and in achieving the ambitious hopes of the peoples of the region and to take positive attitudes towards emerging issues. Under the umbrella of the directives of the leaderships of the two countries and their keenness to develop bilateral relations between them, the officials of both countries are exchanging visits as they believe in the importance of the direct contacts and its role in strengthening the joint cooperation, cohesion and understanding between the two countries.
