Moreover, the Council is also assigned to work on promoting a higher level of cooperation in the finance, economic, commercial, industrial, communications, transport and civil aviation fields. It is also responsible for promoting joint projects and encouraging investments as well as supporting the existing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, industry and exchange of expertise and training. The Council is interested in supporting cooperation in the areas of municipal affairs, agriculture, environment, livestock and fisheries as well as in developing the military cooperation between the two countries, including the exchanging of expertise in military affairs and conducting joint exercises, supporting and activating the role played by the private sector in economic development. The Council will hold annual meetings alternately in the two countries, preceded by preparatory meetings at the expert level, and the Council may also hold extraordinary meetings whenever the need arises.
