SHENZHEN, China, May 05, SPA -- Envoys of the Dalai Lama leftMonday after a day of talks with Chinese officials thatended in an agreement to meet again, an apparent sign ofprogress in easing tensions raised by violentanti-government riots in Tibet, the Associated Press reported. Prime Minister Samdhong Rinpoche of the India-basedTibetan government-in-exile said that he didn't expectdefinitive results from the meeting that ended Sunday butwas happy for dialogue to continue. «Both sides have agreed to continue the dialogueprocess, » he said, adding that details on future meetingswill come later. «Like we said before, we're not expecting much outcomefrom these talks but this is a slow process and we arehappy to continue the dialogue, » he told reporters inDharmsala, India. Chinese state television and Xinhua News Agency also saida second round of talks had been agreed on. CCTV said on its noon news broadcast that the two Tibetanenvoys had to report back to the Dalai Lama in India andthat both sides «agreed to meet again at a suitabletime.» Xinhua said, however, that the Chinese officials told theDalai Lama's envoys at their meeting Sunday that theprotests had spawned new obstacles to communication.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/552814
