COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, April 12, SPA -- Soldiers destroyed two Tamil Tiger rebel bunkers in northern Sri Lanka while fighting inthe region killed 11 separatists and wounded eightsoldiers, the military said Saturday. Troops destroyed two rebel bunkers in the village ofKilali on the northern Jaffna peninsula Friday night, adefense ministry official said. Two soldiers were wounded in the fighting, the officialsaid, speaking on condition of anonymity citing governmentregulations. He did not have details of rebel casualties. Also Friday, soldiers killed four rebels in a battle inVavuniya district, just south of rebel-held territory, theOfficial said. One soldier was wounded in the fighting. Other battles in Jaffna and Welioya regions left sevenrebels dead and five soldiers wounded, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
