Shaukat Aziz speaks about Pak-Iranian ties

ISLAMABAD, September 07, SPA -- Pakistan and Iran enjoy close neighborly relations and playing a significant role in the region for peace and stability, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said. He was talking to an Iranian media delegation headed by Ali Reza Malakian, Deputy Minister of Press and Information Affairs, in Islamabad on Friday, according to an official statement. The prime minister said both countries desire to expand trade and economic links in order to ensure prosperity for their people. He said Pakistan is already buying electricity from Iran and desires to buy more in future. Progress on Pakistan-Iran-India gas pipeline is also moving in a positive direction, he added. On his part, Ali Reza Malakian said that Iran has made progress in the energy, transport and science & technology sectors and would like to share their successes with Pakistan.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/480900
