ISLAMABAD, AUG 01, SPA -- Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to curb terrorism, stressing that the country is fighting the menace in its own national interest and not for any other country. "Any efforts by a responsible government in any country, including Pakistan, to fight the scourge of terrorism has to be done when that country has ownership. Whatever we are doing, we are doing in our own national interests ownership is the key to any effort which has to be undertaken by any society, any country, any nation," the prime minister said in an interview to The Washington Post. He drew attention to the fact that Pakistan has thousands of troops deployed on its Afghan border to fight terrorism. "We have lost more people than all of the foreign forces in Afghanistan put together," he said.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/471986
