ISLAMABAD, MAY 22, SPA -- Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told Polish Defense Minister Aleksandar Szczygklo that Pakistan's defense policy is in conformity with the prevailing geo-strategic environment and measures up to its national aspirations, according to an official statement. Pakistan, he said, does not nurture aggressive designs against any country. He said peace is achieved through strength and our defense policy is designed to maintain minimum credible deterrence both in conventional and strategic areas to ensure peace and stability in the region and to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. The Prime Minister said Pakistan being one of the largest contributors in the UN peacekeeping system is contributing to global peace. On his part, Szczygklo appreciated the contribution made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
