Berlin, JULY 13, SPA -- British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is to visitBerlin for talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday in his firsttrip abroad since taking over from Tony Blair, DPA QUOTED a German governmentspokesman as saying Friday. European affairs and international issues will be the main itemson the agenda of the evening meeting at the federal chancellery,spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm said. Merkel invited Brown to visit Germany when she congratulated himon becoming prime minister on June 27. In her message, the chancellor expressed hope that under Brown thegovernments of Britain and Germany would continue their closerelationship.
