Commenting on the current visit of the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the Mid-east region and her meeting with Arab Foreign Ministers in Aswan, Egypt before the convening of the summit whose main focus will be the Arab peace initiatives, in addition to developments in Iraq, Lebanon and Somalia, Al-Riyadh newspaper, published from the Saudi capital, said "We can not speculate on the thinking of the US Secretary of State, but it seems that there is an agreement that peaceful solutions have priority with regard to the Major Middle project, the spread of democracy and termination of fighting in Iraq, since all ways lead to Palestine." On the other hand, the Makkah-based Al-Nadwa Newspaper spoke about the already announced official Arab stance which will be endorsed at the forthcoming Arab summit reaffirming that there would be no amendment for items of the Arab peace initiatives. The newspaper said this stance had been re-asserted in official statements issued by Arab states and the Arab League's Secretary General. "This firm stand is a response to current attempts to amend the peace initiatives."--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/435566
