COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (SPA) _ Tamil Tiger rebels fatally shot a government soldier in eastern Sri Lanka on Saturday, the military said. The rebels fired at the soldier while he was on duty at acheckpoint in the eastern Batticaloa district, said adefense ministry official, speaking on condition ofanonymity due to policy.
