TERROR ISLAMABAD, APRIL 5, SPA -- PAKISTAN WILL SOON BE GIVEN CONTROL OF THE COMMANDER TASK FORCE (CTF)-150 OPERATION IN THE ARABIAN SEA, RECOGNIZING ITS ROLE IN THE WAR ON TERROR, NETHERLANDS' DEFENSE MINISTER HENRICUS GREGORIUS JOSEPH KAMP SAID. HE WAS TALKING TO THE REPORTERS AFTER HOLDING OFFICIAL MEETINGS WITH PAKISTAN DEFENSE MINISTER RAO SIKANDAR IQBAL AND DEFENSE SECRETARY LT-GEN (RETD) WASIM GHAZI. THE NETHERLANDS DEFENSE MINISTER SAID, AT PRESENT THE COMMAND OF CTF-150 WAS WITH HIS COUNTRY AND WOULD SOON BE SHIFTED TO PAKISTAN FOR ITS EXCELLENT ROLE IN WAR AGAINST TERROR. 'WITHOUT PAKISTAN'S SUPPORT, THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE,' HE SAID. THE CTF-150 IS THE PART OF COALITION CAMPAIGN PLAN. PAKISTAN NAVY WAS ENGAGED IN THIS PLAN AFTER THE 9/11 INCIDENT. KAMP SAID NETHERLANDS AND PAKISTAN WERE FIRM TO CONTINUE THEIR ROLES IN THE WAR AGAINST TERROR. HIGHLIGHTING THE NEED FOR IMPROVING COALITION BETWEEN THE NATO FORCES AND PAKISTAN, THE NETHERLANDS MINISTER SAID, THIS WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN DEALING WITH THE PROBLEMS IN MORE EFFECTIVE MANNER. HE SAID SINCE NATO FORCES WERE DEPLOYED AT THE AFGHAN SOILS AND PAKISTANI FORCES WERE GUARDING THEIR FRONTS ALONG THE BORDERS WITH AFGHANISTAN, IT WAS IMPERATIVE THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE BETTER INTERACTION TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS WITH COORDINATED EFFORTS. --MORE 10 35 LOCAL TIME 07 35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/351187
