Spokeswoman for Pakistani Foreign Ministry Highlights King Abdullah's Visit to Pakis

Islamabad, Jan 31, SPA -- The spokeswoman for the Pakistani foreign ministry said the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will hold talks with Pakistani President Perez Musharraf on bilateral relations and a number of regional and international issues. The spokeswoman, Tasleem Aslam, noted that the forthcoming visit of King Abdullah to Pakistan would be the fifth visit for him to Pakistan. His last visit to the country was on October, 2003, when he was the Crown Prince', she added. The spokeswoman praised the support extended by the Kingdom to Pakistan following the earthquake that hit the country on Oct 8, 2005. 'The Kingdom has pledged to provide Pakistan with $573 million as a contribution to the reconstruction of regions affected by the earthquake', she said. She pointed out that the Kingdom is the biggest oil supplier of Pakistan. As regards trade exchange between the two countries, she said it amounted in 2004/2005 to about $2.8 billion, while the Saudi investments in Pakistan amounted in the same period to $275 million.
