Karachi, April 24, SPA -- Pakistan and India have agreed to immediately release nationals who inadvertently crossedover their border in a move aimed at preventing lengthydetentions and repatriation procedures, an official saidSunday. Pakistani and Indian officials will free anyone found tohave strayed over the border by accident "without goinginto lengthy and complicated (repatriation) procedures,"said Maj. Gen. Javed Zia, the head of Pakistan's SindhRangers border security force. "We passed on the information to local commanders thismorning," Zia said, a day after wrapping up four-day talkson combating drug trafficking and illegal immigration inthe southern city of Karachi with Indian Border SecurityForce officials.
