Tehran, Sept 11, SPA -- Iran warned Sunday that referring itto the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions overits controversial nuclear activities will lead to a no-winsituation with "certain consequences." New Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also told a pressconference that Iran plans to organize tenders for buildingtwo more nuclear power plants in the Islamic republic. Mottaki reiterated Iran's position that it won't stopuranium reprocessing, rejecting a U.S.-backed Europeanthreat that Tehran has about a week to freeze theactivities or face referral to the Security Council forpossible sanctions. "There is no legal or legitimate reason, given Iran'stransparent activities and its open cooperation with theIAEA ... that Iran be referred to the U.N. SecurityCouncil," Mottaki told reporters. "If a political decision is made to refer Iran to theU.N. Security Council, it will be entering a lose-losegame," he added. "It will have its own certainconsequences and will affect Iran's decisions. We preferthat such a game is not played," he was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.--SPA1244 Local Time 0944 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/288530
