Beirut, Nov 13, SPA -- The mystery behind the explosion that took place overnight in the car of the first secretary at the German embassy in Beirut was solved Saturday after Lebanese police finished their investigations. "There was no bomb planted inside the car, it is due to electrical wiring inside the back of the car near the gasoline tank," a Lebanese police source told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa. "There was no wreckage around the car, so this proves that there was no bomb ... or any attack against the embassy car," he said. The explosion took place shortly after midnight when the first secretary was having dinner in West Beirut's seaside Raouche area. German embassy officials refused to comment on the incident or give details. --SPA 1340 Local Time 1040 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/217156
