Baghdad, Dec 4, SPA -- A roadside bomb exploded Saturdaynorth of Baghdad killing a U.S. soldier and woundinganother, a spokesman said. Master Sgt. Robert Powell said an improvised explosivedevice detonated at 8:02 a.m. (0502GMT), hitting a truck ina military convoy near Ghalabiyah, about 10 kilometers (6miles) west if Baqouba, a hotbed of insurgency north of theIraqi capital. One soldier was killed in the blast, Powell said, whileanother was injured and evacuated to a military hospitalfor treatment. His condition was unclear.
