Kandahar, Afghanistan, Nov 24, SPA -- Two suspected Taliban gunmen fatally shot a local security chief and two government militiamen in a drive-by attack in southern Afghanistan,police said Wednesday. The gunmen, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on a pickuptruck carrying the three victims in Deh Rawood district ofUruzgan province around 4 p.m. Tuesday, said Rozi Khan, theprovincial police chief. Among the dead was Nasim Khan, the security chief ofGirishk district in neighboring Helmand province, Rozi Khansaid. He blamed the attack on Taliban rebels who are active inthe region and often ambush Afghan forces.
