Baghdad, Nov 2, SPA -- A car bomb exploded Tuesday near theMinistry of Education in a busy commercial area in northernBaghdad, killing six people, according to the InteriorMinistry and hospital officials Spokesman Col. Adnan Abdul-Rahman of the Interior Ministrysaid the 8:45 a.m. (0545GMT) blast occurred in the northernAzamiyah district. Al-Nu'man Hospital officials said there were six peoplekilled, including one woman. Ten others were wounded,including a two-year old girl. The blast detonated near the Ministry of Educationoffices, according to a ministry employee, who refused togive his name. Most of the employees managed to escape unscathed but thebuilding's guards, who were in the rear of the building,were among the casualties, he said.
