Beijing, Sept 19, SPA -- Former President Jiang Zemin turned over his last major post as chairman of the commission that runsChina's military to his successor, Hu Jintao, thegovernment said Sunday, completing the country's firstpeaceful leadership transition since its 1949 revolution. Jiang, whose term was to have run until 2007, handed inhis resignation during a meeting of the ruling CommunistParty's Central Committee, the official Xinhua News Agencysaid in a brief dispatch.
