Washington, Sept 1, SPA -- President George W. Bush, in a reversal of remarks made earlier that victory against terrorists may not be possible, said today that "we will win" the war on terror. "We meet today in a time of war for our country, a war we did not start, yet one that we will win," Bush told veterans in Nashville, Tennessee, apparently referring to the September 11, 2001 attacks. "In this different kind of war, we may never sit down at a peace table," he said. "But make no mistake about it, we are winning and we will win." Those statements differed from Bush's remark aired Monday in a pre-recorded television interview, that "I don't think you can win" the war onterror. In his speech today, Bush also defended his decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power. Though no weapons of mass destruction have been found, he said Saddam had the capability to make them. "Knowing what I know today, I would have taken the same action," Bush said. "America and the world are safer with Saddam Hussein sitting in a prison cell."--SPA1056 Local Time 0756 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/196989
