A U.S. team is scheduled to come to Israel in September todiscuss an acceptable set of guidelines for settlementconstruction, according to a report of the Associated Press. In addition, a top Sharon adviser, Dov Weisglass, will go to Washington next month to discuss the new arrangements. In a separate development Sunday, Israel's interiorministry announced a freeze on US$13 million in funding forsettlements in the West Bank and Gaza. A ministry spokesman said the freeze was due to budgetconstraints and not related to Sharon's disengagement plan. Ministry spokesman Tibi Rabinovitz said a parliamentaryfinance committee could overrule the decision, as it did ina similar case last year.
