Tehran, Aug 9, SPA -- Iran said Monday the internationalcommunity had no reason to be suspicious about its nuclearambitions, despite allegations by the United States that itwas trying to produce a nuclear weapon. "Iran has not violated any of its commitments tointernational treaties in its nuclear program," ForeignMinister Kamal Kharrazi was quoted as saying by theofficial Islamic Republic News Agency. His comments came a day after U.S. National Securityadviser Condoleezza Rice said her government sees a newinternational willingness to act against Iran's nuclearprogram. The world is finally "worried and suspicious"about the Iranian government's intentions and is determinednot to let Tehran produce a nuclear weapon, she said. Iran has long maintained its nuclear program is peaceful. Kharrazi said the United States has called for referringIran's nuclear case to the U.N. Security Council, but"reasons must be provided in order to send the file to theSecurity Council." "No lack of commitments is seen by Iran," he said, adding that whatever Iran has done in the area of nuclearenergy is based on its international commitments and is inline with the country's legitimate rights.--more1515 Local Time 1215 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/190256
