Late Sunday, the UN Security Council in New York strongly condemned a massacre in Houla, which killed 108 people, among them some 32 children under the age of ten. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said in a statement that the "indiscriminate and possibly deliberate" killing of villagers in Houla may mount to crimes against humanity or other forms of international crime. According to activists the unrest in Syria has killed more than 12,000 people since protests against Damascus Regime's leader Bashar Al-Assad broke out in March 2011. --SPA 11:33 LOCAL TIME 08:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1002468
