Beirut, Rajab 7, 1433, May 28, 2012, SPA - UN-Arab League Envoy Kofi Annan is due to arrive in Syria Monday to discuss the escalating violence in the country which saw the killing of more than 150 people over the weekend. The London-based Syrian observatory for Human Rights said Monday that the regime forces committed late Sunday a "new crime" during which they killed more than 29 people in the central province of Hama, among them seven children under the age of 16. Other activists put the Hama death toll at more than 50, according to a report of DPA. Annan, who brokered a supposed ceasefire between the Damascus regime and its opponents, is due meet with Syrian opposition figures and the regime's officials to discuss ways to stop the bloodshed in the country. --MORE 11:29 LOCAL TIME 08:29 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1002465
