With regard to the issue of Iranian occupation of three islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Moussa of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations described the occupation as a part of a series of threats directed by Iran against Arab Gulf countries. He stressed that the recent visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the island of Abu Musa of the UAE represents an unacceptable provocation and intransigence that do not reflect good intentions, expressing the Kingdom's support for UAE's pursuit to resolve this issue peacefully through negotiations or arbitration, calling on Islamic Republic of Iran to resort to wisdom and good-neighborliness and to cooperate with the UAE to reach a fair solution to this issue. --More 12:46 LOCAL TIME 09:46 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/991738
