Riyadh, Dec. 17, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the entire world has recognized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in providing the humanitarian and relief aid for all affected countries and needy people around the world. In this regard, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths has praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts, being provided through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to support Yemen with the aim of alleviating the suffering of people under the current humanitarian crisis, noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not only an important donor for Yemen but also to all needy countries in the world, the paper said. Saudi Arabia ranks third globally and first in the Arab world in terms of proving humanitarian aid for poor countries of the world with an amount of $841,393,791 million, in addition to being the largest supporter of Yemen, with $799,161,812 million, according to the United Nations Financial Tracking Service (FTS, the paper added. During COVID-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia has provided a whole slew of aid to affected countries to help them overcome the pandemic, which had a great impact on those countries and their peoples, the paper further added.
