Cairo, March 1, 2022, SPA – The Arab Parliament has praised UN Security Council decision that classified Houthi militia as a terrorist group and imposed an arms embargo on Houthi militia, describing the move as a victory for right and legitimacy in facing falsehood. The Arab Parliament, in a statement today, stressed that issuing this decision came on time after the terrorist Houthi group escalated its attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in addition to its attacks on airports and ports in a way that threatens the lives of civilians, hinders the international marine movement, and negatively affects the international trade movement, adding that the decision falls under the responsibility of the Security Council towards maintaining international peace and security. The parliament noted that this decision was also the result of big Arab efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to stop the violations of the terrorist Houthi group and support endeavors to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis. The Arab Parliament also stressed its solidarity with all Arab and international efforts being exerted to maintain international peace and security and combat all violations perpetrated by the terrorist Houthi group, in addition to Arab countries’ devoted efforts to stop the deterioration of humanitarian conditions among the brotherly Yemeni people as a result of the practices of the Houthi militia and its violations to all international laws. --SPA 12:07 LOCAL TIME 09:07 GMT 0012 www.spa.gov.sa/w1699043
