Islamic Affairs Ministry Sends 32,700 Copies of Holy Quran to Kenya

Jeddah, January 23, 2022, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, embarked on sending the fourth batch of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' gift of 32,700 copies of the Holy Quran with various sizes and interpretations to the Republic of Kenya in coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's embassy in Nairobi, where this comes in implementation of the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The ministry started shipping the amount according to the preventive measures and health protocols followed to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Director General of the ministry's branch in Makkah Dr. Salem bin Hajj Al-Khamri, during a speech while shipping the shipment from Jeddah Islamic Port, noted that this is the fourth batch of the total amount, adding that the total distributed copies after this batch reached 59,450 copies of the complex's issues that the ministry distributes under the Royal directive to all Muslims in the world with millions of copies for free. Dr. AL-Khamri said that the average production of the complex was nine million copies per year before the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1438 Hijri ordered the increase of its production by at least 18 million copies annually, which was achieved through the generous support of the wise leadership. He also pointed out that the complex's production till the end of 2021 exceeded 345 million copies, 320 million of which were distributed as gifts from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Muslims across the globe. --SPA 15:49 LOCAL TIME 12:49 GMT 0017 www.spa.gov.sa/w1681909
