Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia and its Efforts in Afghanistan Reconciliation

Riyadh, June 11, 2021, SPA -- The Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad, Al-Riyadh and Al-Yaum newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has spared no efforts in achieving peace in the region and the world since its establishment until this prosperous era being led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince. In this regard, eminent scholars in Pakistan and Afghanistan signed in Makkah the historic declaration of peace in Afghanistan, which paves the way for a solution to the long-standing Afghan crisis, by supporting negotiations between the warring factions and rejecting all acts of violence and extremism in all its forms and manifestations, the papers said. The Muslim World League (MWL) has exerted great efforts to hold the Islamic Conference under the auspices and support of Saudi Arabia, which brought together for the first time the eminent scholars of Afghanistan and Pakistan to achieve reconciliation among the Afghan people, the papers added. Such large participation of the various spectrums of the Afghan people and their leaders and scholars in the conference reflects a sincere desire, firm determination and a real will of all to establish lasting peace in their homeland and respond and interact positively with the important and pivotal roles being played by Saudi Arabia in supporting the peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan, the papers further added .
