Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Continues Its Efforts in Combating Covid-19

Riyadh, February 05, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh, Al-Yaum and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dealt with the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic with high professionalism, which aroused the admiration of the world, as it has harnessed all capabilities to contain the pandemic and deal with its effects at all level. Saudi Arabia took all decisions and carried out a whole slew of preventive and precautionary measures which effectively contributed to reduce the impacts of the virus, but state of social laxity in adhering to preventive measures has been reported, along with increasing of infections, on the other hand, the papers said. In this regard, it has been decided to suspend all events and parties for a period of 30 days and may be extended, while the maximum number of human gatherings in social events shall not exceed (20) persons for a period of (10) days, that may be extended, the papers added. The decision included suspending all entertainment activities and events for a period of (10) days, that may be extended, in addition to closing down cinemas, indoor entertainment centers, independent indoor games places or in restaurants, shopping malls, gyms and sports centers, for a period of (10) days, that may be extended, the papers further added. The decision also included suspending of providing dining services in restaurants, cafes and the like, and limiting it to providing external requests for a period of (10) days, that may be extended, as the competent authorities will intensify monitoring efforts in the application of protocols and precautions and taking necessary measures against who violates such protocols and precautions, the papers concluded. --SPA 13:47 LOCAL TIME 10:47 GMT 0005 www.spa.gov.sa/w1499311
