Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 Is a Necessary Strategic Option

Riyadh, January 31, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 has demonstrated its feasibility and importance on the ground and confirmed that it is a necessary strategic option. Within the goals of this vision, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, announced a strategy to develop the City of Riyadh as part of Saudi Arabia's plans to diversify sources of income and grow the economy, the paper added. In this regard, Riyadh will become one of the ten largest Economic cities in the world, through a package of quality projects that will boost it economically and push it to expand socially in order to accommodate 20 million people by 2030, instead of 7.5 million people now, the paper further added. HRH Crown Prince has confirmed that this development strategy for Riyadh city is based on the great efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz through sound management and planning to develop Riyadh city thorough more than half a century, the paper concluded. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said during a session at the World Economic Forum held virtually that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is well aware that international cooperation cannot be achieved without regional cooperation. In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the signing of Al-Ula Declaration came to face challenges and to achieve security and stability, the paper added.
