Riyadh, December 04, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has come ahead of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, through five security indices, issued by the Global Competitiveness Report 2019 and the Sustainable Development Report 2020. The paper added that Saudi Arabia has made unprecedented achievements as its presidency of G20 and its leadership of the global resolutions for the sake of welfare of mankind. The paper further added that in this prosperous era, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, led important reforms aimed at preserving security gains in particular and protecting GCC, Arab and Islamic fold in general. The paper concluded that these reforms aim at deterring all attempts to undermine Arab and Islamic national security and standing up against the Iranian plots and its proxies in the region. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's relations with countries are based on the principles of mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs, affirming its commitment to the United Nations Charter and the three pillars of the United Nations, namely sustainable development, security and peace and human rights. The paper added that this came in a Saudi Arabia's speech before the 75th session of UN General Assembly at its meeting under theme “Culture of Peace,” delivered by the head of the General Assembly’s section of Saudi Arabia’s permanent delegation to the United Nations, Khaddam bin Mousa Al-Fayez. The paper further added that Saudi Arabia has established the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), in Vienna in 2012, as the Center represents a historic breakthrough towards a meaningful and responsible human dialogue among religions followers. The paper concluded that Saudi Arabia established the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) which monitors and analyzes extremist thought, in order to eradicate it, as well as the establishment of United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) that seeks to build the capabilities of member states to confront of terrorism and extremism. --SPA 13:06 LOCAL TIME 10:06 GMT 0004 www.spa.gov.sa/w1462138
