Riyadh, July 10, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues, at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the UN Security Council discussed the report of UN Secretary-General on Iran's involvement in the missile attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last year. The paper added that the UN Security Council also discussed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's emphasis on the need to take a firm stance by the international community towards Iran, along with taking appropriate measures to continue arm embargo on the Iranian regime, and to deal seriously with the nuclear and ballistic programs being developed by Iran. The paper concluded that Saudi Arabia is keen on the stability of the region, and it will not under any circumstances allow any transgression of its borders, harm to its national security, or exposing the safety of water crossings and global economy to the threats of the hostile Iranian behavior. In another context, Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that decades ago, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played very positive role in the stability of global markets, along with its great keenness to activate the role of World Trade Organization (WTO) in regulating the global trade movement which is estimated at $ 20 trillion annually. The paper added that Saudi Arabia’s nomination of the Advisor Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, with his relevant high experiences at various levels for the post of Director General of the World Trade Organization comes as an extension of the historical Saudi role in supporting WTO's efforts. --SPA 10:25 LOCAL TIME 07:25 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1368075
