Vienna, June 16, 2020, SPA – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed its worry over Iran’s use of its nuclear agreement with IAEA for non-peaceful purposes. In a key address before the governors of IAEA in Vienna, Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi ambassador to Austria, who is also his country’s governor to IAEA, stated that Iran is still exploiting the shortage of an international nuclear agreement to extend its nuclear activity towards obtaining nuclear weapons. He cited a recent IAEA report that Iran has increased its enriched uranium, overpassing the agreed levels, and continued to expand its usage of advanced centrifuge. He called for authoring a new comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran that tackles the shortage in the current agreement, in a way that guarantees Iran’s as well as its regional surrounding rights in peaceful usage of nuclear activities and, at the same time, prevents Iran from expanding its terrorist regional plots or obtaining nuclear weapons. --SPA 21:39 LOCAL TIME 18:39 GMT 0021 www.spa.gov.sa/w1351391
