Pakistan Ulema Council calls on Islamic countries to confront terrorism and foreign interference

Islamabad, Rabi'I 27, 1438, Dec 26, 2016, SPA -- Pakistan Ulema Council called on all Islamic countries to adopt a joint strategy to confront terrorism, particularly terror organizations now threatening the Islamic Ummah and stand steadfast against foreign interference in the affairs of the Islamic and Arab countries. The participants in the Islamic Nations Unity conference held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Dr. Mahmoud Al-Ashrafi, head of the Pakistani Ulema Council, in the Pakistani city of Karachi called for putting an end to terrorist organizations supported by Iran and aiming to flare up the fire of sectarianism and threat the security of Islamic countries. Speaking to the conference, Al-Ashrafi said Daesh and similar militias are but puppets of the enemies of Islam. He called on the world community, particularly the Arab and Islamic countries to enact laws criminalizing sectarianism and stopping the groups which take sectarianism as a basis for its activity and threaten the security of Arab and Islamic countries as well as the world security. He said the world today is gearing forward to see the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey and Qatar playing a pioneering role in salvaging the Islamic Ummah from the challenges it is facing.
