Amman, Shawwal 19, 1436, August 04, 2015, SPA -- A joint statement was released today on the occasion of the visit of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The text of the statement follows: Based on the historical, established and close ties linking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his brother King Abdullah II, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, paid a visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the kind invitation of King Abdullah II on Tuesday, 19/10/1436 H corresponding to 04/08/2015 AD. The king held a meeting with the Deputy Crown Prince who conveyed greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, to their brother King Abdullah II. Bilateral expanded talks were held and focused on cooperation between the two brotherly countries and current developments in the region on which the views of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King Abdullah II were identical. Based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his brother King Abdullah II, it has been agreed during the talks on the importance of strengthening the political, economic, military and security strategic cooperation between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two countries stressed the importance of working together in the fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations for the protection of the principles of the Islamic religion, and in defense of the security of the region and its peoples. The two sides stressed that the safety and security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one and the same.
