Vienna, Jumada I 03, 1436, February 22, 2015, SPA -- An Austrian train narrowly escaped a major accident in which a 800-tonne road bridge collapsed onto the rail tracks, dpa quoted a railway company spokesman as saying Sunday. The bridge had been under construction near the southern town of Graz, spanning one of Austria's main railway routes. A train had passed the site only minutes before the concrete and scaffolding came crashing down Saturday evening, the spokesman told Austrian press agency APA. He did not know how many passengers were onboard. Some 10,000 passengers per day will have to take buses in the coming two weeks while the route will be closed to clean up the wreckage, the national railway company OeBB said. Cargo trains will be rerouted through neighbouring Hungary and Slovenia. -- SPA 21:38 LOCAL TIME 18:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
