Minister of Energy Leads KSA Delegation to State Parties to UN Conference on Climate Change Summit

Katowice, Dec 4, 2018, SPA -- On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, has headed the Kingdom's delegation to the Summit of the Heads of States' Parties to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, from 2 to 14 December 2018, in Katowice, Poland. The Minister conveyed greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince to the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, and anticipation to strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two countries, wishes for the success of the conference and commitment of the Kingdom to work for making it a success. Objectives of the Conference are focused on the full implementation of the Paris Convention on Climate, respect for the principles and basis on which it was built upon and the development of practical mechanisms for its application. On the sidelines of the conference, Eng. Al-Falih held a bilateral meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in which he stressed that the Kingdom is already strengthening its climate change measures, to ensure that negotiations continue on track towards the full implementation of the historic Paris Convention.
