Al-Kahmous Leads KSA Delegation the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption Conference

Abu Dhabi, Dec 16, 2019, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) delegation to the 4-day eighth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, was headed by the Chairman of the Control and Anti-Corruption Commission Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous. As the workings of the forum began here today, with the participation of representatives of states parties to the convention against and a number of specialized international organizations, in the field of transparency, integrity protection and anti-corruption, he delivered the Kingdom's speech, expressing thanks and appreciation of the sisterly state of the United Arab Emirates for hosting this conference and to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for its efforts in implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption. He said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on its awareness of the seriousness of corruption, has set its vision 2030, making governance, transparency, integrity and anti-corruption main pillars, noting that the issuance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Dear Al Saud sublime order to include all supervisory, control and investigative entities and units concerned with fighting corruption, in one apparatus called "Supervisory and Anti-Corruption Commission", is indicating the keenness of the leadership in the Kingdom to strengthen the rule of law and the accountability of every official whatever his position, in order to eliminate financial and administrative corruption, in a manner that ensures the speedy decision on corruption to achieve the desired goals. Al-Kahmous stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in the field of international cooperation which are not limited to mere agreements and memoranda of understanding, but also put among their priorities the strengthening of efforts to combat corruption and protect integrity in the G20, as the country holds the current presidency role of the group for the year 2020. 18:06 LOCAL TIME 15:06 GMT 0021 www.spa.gov.sa/w1229681
