Cairo, Rajab 19, 1439, April 05, 2018, SPA -- Speaker of the Shura Council Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh affirmed that a continuation of the Houthi attacks proves that the Iranian regime is involved in supporting the Houthi terrorist militias with military capabilities threating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's security as well as the regional and international security, adding that the source of the ballistic missiles is Iran, which is a flagrant and blatant challenge of the United Nation resolutions no. 2216 and 2231. This came in speech delivered by Al Al-Sheikh before the 27th Conference of the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union being held in Cairo. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was keen to be the first responding state to the UN urgent appeal for Yemen where King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) implemented the biggest response plan for the humanitarian relief throughout the UN history," Al Al-Sheikh said, citing the Security Council's welcome of the Kingdom's commitment of $1 billion for the UN plan to support Yemen. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh expressed the Kingdom's deep concern with regard to the latest developments in Syria, particularly the violations committed by the Syrian regime against the innocent people, calling to stop the Syrian regime's violence and the need to allowing access of the humanitarian and relief assistance. The speaker of the Shura council reiterated the Kingdom's firm stances towards the regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause, stressing establishment of Palestinian State with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital. He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its stance rejecting Jerusalem as a capital of Israel. --SPA 19:35 LOCAL TIME 16:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w660407
