Jeddah, Safar 10, 1439, Oct 30, 2017, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen has strongly condemned the two coordinated car bomb and suicide attacks on Saturday, 28 October 2017, that targeted a hotel and a former parliament house in Mogadishu in which at least 23 people including policemen were killed and more than 30 others injured. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Al-Othaimeen, who deplored the persistent assaults against the security forces and innocent civilians by the Al-Shabaab terrorist group that also claimed the latest attack, conveyed his deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the families, government and people of Somalia over these dastardly and un-Islamic acts which violate all known human values. While reiterating the OIC’s full solidarity with the authorities in Somalia in their sustained fight against terrorism, the Secretary General called on international partners of Somalia and countries in the region to enhance their support and strengthen partnership with Somalia in order to eradicate the menace that Al-Shabaab continues to pose to regional peace, security and stability. --SPA 16:39 LOCAL TIME 13:39 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w523995
