ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, Shawwal 20, 1436, August 05, 2015, SPA -- Ivory Coast's military court has sentenced the former head of security for the country's ex-first lady to 20 years in prison for acts related to the postelection crisis in 2011, according to AP. More than 3,000 people were killed after former President Laurent Gbagbo refused to accept his defeat in 2010 elections to Alassane Ouattara, who is now president. Anselme Yapo Seka, in charge of security for Simone Gbagbo, was convicted of voluntary homicide and assault and battery. The court also expelled him from the gendarmerie and said he could not leave the West African country for 10 years after his release. The military court sentenced to five years in prison another senior military officer close to the ex-president. Gbagbo himself is awaiting trial at the International Criminal Court. --SPA 02:52 LOCAL TIME 23:52 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
