Second Batch of Saudi Humanitarian Aid for Relief of Nepalese People Arrived

Kathmandu, Sha'ban 12, 1436, May 30, 2015, SPA -- Upon directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the second plane carrying humanitarian aid for the relief of the people of Nepal arrived here yesterday at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital Kathmandu. The humanitarian aid consisted of more than 28 tonnes of various aid, including more than 200 tent for shelter which is one of the most important necessities in crisis and environmental disasters, especially sequenced earthquakes, in addition to thousands of blankets, food and medical supplies. Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Abdulnasser Al-Harthy said that the Saudi relief air lift stopped for a period of time because of the high pressure of flights on Tribhuvan Airport, in addition to the status of airport which was not ready to receive large aircraft that carry more of 120 tons.
