Geneva, 3 Jumada II 1436, March 23, 2015, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called upon the Israeli occupation to halt violations against Palestinian people and to stop non-humanitarian actions like killing, starving and displacement. During his speech at the Human Rights Council today, Faisal Terad, Saudi Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, condemned a continuation of the Israeli intransigence and its refusal to cooperate with the Special Rapporteur in spite of its promises. Israel continued in its humiliation against the Human Rights Council by boycotting and rejecting the Special Rapporteur visit. The Saudi ambassador stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia deeply reviewed the Special Rapporteur report, Makarem Webonsou, which focused on human rights' situations in Palestinian occupied territories since 1967, inquiring, that following more than six decades and issuance of more than hundred reports and recommendation, how long time should we wait to see the Palestinian rights’ return. Faisal Terad assured that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rejects any kind of humiliation against any human being in the World. "Saudi Arabia believes that it is a time to bear the burden of our historic responsibility. It is unreasonable and unacceptable to see many countries in the world calling on protecting the human rights in everywhere in the world except in the occupied Palestinian territories. There is a duplication of abhorrent and repugnant standards authorizing the Israeli occupation to violate the Palestinian rights," he added. The Saudi Ambassador asked about "the number of Palestinian victims to be martyrized before a moribund world is awakened, particularly the member states of the Security Council, against Israel rejecting the principle of peace as we heard recently from Israeli Prime Minister who stressed that there is no independent Palestinian state in his era." "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called upon the International Community to make pressure on Israeli Occupation to apply the International Legitimacy's Resolutions to establish Palestinian independent state since 1967 as well as to allow the Special Rapporteur to carry out his tasks. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia asked a question to the Special Rapporteur about a measure to be taken against Israel due to its rejection of all international legitimacy's decisions and a continuation of violating the Palestinian rights," he concluded. --SPA 23:25 LOCAL TIME 20:25 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
