Prince Saud Al-Faisal reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm stance and commitment to fight terrorism, citing a warning repeatedly issued more than a decade ago by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of its risks and consequences. "In this regard, the last initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was on August when he called upon leaders and scholars of the Arab and Islamic countries to stand against this scourge," Prince added, expressing surprise at the international community's silence despite relentless pursuit of this scourge and its expansion in the entire world. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched firm laws and listed names of terrorists and terrorist organizations for all security and intellectual organizations to combat this scattering evil in addition to cut their financial support. At the international level, the Kingdom was and still seeking to push international efforts, including establishment of the international centre for the fight against terrorism under the umbrella of the United Nations. The Kingdom has supported this center with $100 million. Despite of the consensus of the world on the danger this phenomenon is posing, the center still needs international active contribution actors in order to fulfill its required role," the minister of foreign affairs added. "The fruits of the strict policy pursued by my country's government orchestrated with a concerted firm support of all the society's segments including social leaders, scholars, citizens who stand as a queue in the face of terrorism and deviant thought were yielded at homeland's level. The clear and explicit statement issued by the Senior Scholars Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 17th of September is reflected clearly in the Kingdom's activeness to combat terrorism and reveal the reality of this terrorist false ideology and evil practices.
