For his part, the UN secretary general explained that it is possible to start negotiations anew, noting that the Yemeni people are in need to authority and that negotiations must be restored to reach a solution in which the United Nations could take part in it. On the support the UN is providing to Ould Al-Chiekh Ahmed to implement the resolution No. 2216, the UN secretary general confirmed his support for the UN envoy, noting that Ould Al-Chiekh Ahmed is doing an impartial, unbiased, legal, professional and a fully-supported work. For his part, Al-Jubeir confirmed respect and appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the efforts being exerted by the UN envoy to Yemen, noting its confidence that he would succeed in his job and that the Kingdom is ready to provide every help for him.
