On the rapprochement between Egypt and Turkey, the Turkish foreign minister said Egypt is an important country for Turkey, the Islamic world, and the Middle East and that "the Egyptian people are in good terms with us". Al-Jubeir considered the issues of interest to the strategic coordination council as a comprehensive road map that shows how the overall relation between the two countries is going and helps the leaders of the two countries to view and evaluate it. He said the Kingdom and Turkey are the Middle East's biggest two economic blocs and share identical views on the challenges facing the region, particularly the Syrian crisis, Iraqi problems and Iranian challenges or the situation in Yemen, the freedom and security of navigation in the Red Sea, confrontation with terrorism, provision of security and stability in the region to deny the extremists and terrorists any presence as they could always flourish when there is lack of stability in the region.
